This commission will cover the following themes:
- Using ICT in dissemination of knowledge and information, particularly to rural communities; and
- Use of ICT to improve production.
The commission aims at bridging the huge digital divide between IT and Agriculture, which is as large as the divide between the city and the country.
The commission focuses on livestock farming, being an existing and lively industry in developing countries, which however in general needs a conversion from traditional to commercial farming management. Farming aspects to be attended to are livestock production, animal health and grazing management to prevent soil erosion.
